About Red Kalyna
Forged in the changing realities and needs of the February 24, 2022, Russian invasion of Ukraine, Red Kalyna is a musical ensemble based in central North Carolina. The group unites musicians with Ukrainian, Italian, and American roots, creating a fusion of traditional Ukrainian folk songs and contemporary arrangements—reflecting a shared commitment to cultural preservation and peace.
Through our performances, we aim to raise awareness of Ukrainian culture and heritage while fostering understanding and unity across diverse communities. Our music is both artistic expression and humanitarian outreach, offering connection, remembrance, and hope.
